If you are looking for an easy to install, easy to use knowledge base program then KB Publisher is it. The install process was easy with the step by step instrutions. Configuring the product is a breeze. You will be adding articles in no time. We use the product to document our work process flow and it works great. Works so well that we have begun to use it for end user how to's. Support is great if you run into any issues. Would highly recommend this low cost solution.

  3. Great price, easy install, a must have for any Org.
Some things I would like to see:
    - IP based auth (no login required if coming from a specific ip address)
    - One step uploading pictures. Currently click image button, upload, browse, send to server, ok button. I would like to see browse for picture, ok button.
    - Article window is too small, constantly scrolling
    - Email to friend should have an option to popup your default mail program instead of a form
    - Preconfigured selectable forms that have issue, problem, fix. This would make it easier for users to follow a standard.
    - Themes
    Great product, thanks.

Overall price and support has been great. There are a number of useful features, including the search, the article management, the category management, rss, news feed, and more. Since there are many good features, I would like to include a few suggestions to make the system even better:

    1) install and upgrade is still somewhat cumbersome and requires tweaks.

    2) search doesn't register 3 letter words, so searching for xls or xml is a problem

    3) sending a private link doesn't go to a login page if logged out, instead it goes to main page, causing confusion for users. They have to know to login, then go back and click the link a second time.

    4) Integrating with other programs still somewhat complex, such as passing authentication from your own authentication system.

    5) MySQL tables needs some work. Version 3.5 has been slower than 3.0 and has required lots of modifications and performance tweaks to keep up the browsing and searching speeds. Some more optimization and testing of the performance would be useful before next release.

Overall, the product has been a great find! We are looking forward to growing our site and expanding our use of KB with our clients.

    Thanks!

  6. > 2) search doesn't register 3 letter words, so searching for xls or xml is a problem
It is MySQL fulltext search limitation, it could be changed please article below

    > They have to know to login, then go back and click the link a second time.
It happened with private link with some roles assigned, actually it was done specially
No role - no link - no article

We spent a lot of time to optimize SQL queries, and this really depends on MySQL version

    Thank you for your review!
