Hi, We own a corporate license for KB and have version 3.0 installed with 100 intended users. I just deployed this only one month back and since then there has been only 50% success of people being able to use this. Rest are all getting weird messages of database corruption and KB error. My IT person has already contacted you and you have suggested rebuilding the database. This is a manual process and cannot be supported on 24/7 basis.

    1) Why is this happening this frequently? I took a big risk by choosing this software over other production software that my company was offering me and now I dont look so good.

    2) When is the 3.5 version production release coming out? Is that going to solve any of the stability problems? I dont feel comfortable installing a beta version for such large community and take another big risk.

    Please help.
    thanks,

  2. I haven't actually heard of anyone else running the product who has a
similar problem. We have run KBPublisher for four years now without any
problems like this. The suggestion about the MySQL tables being corrupted
    does seem likely.

    MySQL says:

Even though the MyISAM table format is very reliable (all changes to a table
made by an SQL statement are written before the statement returns), you can
still get corrupted tables if any of the following events occur:

    - The mysqld process is killed in the middle of a write.
    - An unexpected computer shutdown occurs (for example, the computer is turned off).
    - Hardware failures.
    - You are using an external program (such as myisamchk) to modify a table that is being modified by the server at the same time.

    Please check this:
    http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/crashing.html

We also recommend that you try another version of MySQL, and try some MySQL
    optimization.

Release 3.5 is due out in 1-3 months. This version contains scheduled
tasks, and one of the tasks is to check for database "corruption" status and
    repairs it if necessary.
