Article ID: 123
Last updated: 19 Sep, 2008

Once you have uploaded files, you can add links to them in your articles, much the same way as you can link to other articles. This allows you to load a file once, but refer to it as many times as you wish.

To add a link to the file inside the text, like this:

  • Add the file
  • Add or edit the article to which you wish to add the link
  • Highlight the text to be linked
  • Click on the add new Attachment icon
  • Find the file you wish to link to
  • Click on Insert (this is in the Action column).

To add a link to the file so that the link appears at the bottom of the screen, under the sub-heading 'Attached Files'.

  • Add the file
  • Add or edit the article to which you wish to add the link
  • Click on the add new Attachment icon
  • Find the file you wish to link to
  • Click on Attach (this is in the Action column).

Once you have attached a file at the bottom of the screen you can also quickly link it to your text as well.

  • Open the article which has the attached file
  • Highlight the text the file is to be linked to
  • Click on Insert under Attachments.

Tip

  • If you have problems inserting a file, check that you have not highlighted text and are trying to attach the file. If you highlight text you should be inserting, not attaching. If you want to do both, attach first, and then highlight your text and use the Insert under Attachments.
