Link to another article (related articles)

To add a link inside the text, like this:

  • Add or edit the article to which you wish to add the link
  • Highlight the text to be linked
  • Click on the add new Related articles icon
  • Find the record you wish to link to
  • Click on Insert (this is in the Action column).

To attach a link to the article. This link appears at the bottom of the screen, under the sub-heading 'Also read'.

  • Add or edit the article to which you wish to add the link
  • Click on the add new Related articles icon
  • Find the record you wish to link to
  • Click on Attach (this is in the Action column).

Once you have attached a link to an article at the bottom of the screen you can also quickly add the link into your text as well.

  • Open the article which has the attached link
  • Highlight the text to be linked
  • Click on Insert under Related articles.

Tip

  • When you add a link to another page, the page that you link to also includes a link back to this page under the 'Also Read' heading by default. However, you can turn this back link off by removing the tick from the cross reference checkbox for that link.
  • If you have problems inserting a link, check that you are not trying to attach an article. If you highlight text you should be inserting, rather than attaching. If you want to do both, attach first, and then highlight your text and use the Insert under Related Articles.
