Last updated: 27 Feb, 2011

This article assumes that you have already created your export template and saved it. If you have not done this, see Export Articles instead.

To generate a document from a previously saved export file

Once you have saved an export template, you can regenerate a document any time. The new export takes the latest copy of each article from your knowledgebase

  • Click on the Export menu
  • The export templates you have created are listed.
  • Select the one you want to generate new documentation for by clicking on the Details () action icon.
  • This opens the Export Detail screen with information about the template displayed. In the download section there will be one, two or three of: PDF, HTML (one file) and HTML (many files), depending on how many different formats you chose when setting up the export template.
  • Click on Generate next to the format you want produce a document for. This creates a document, or documents, from the current knowledgebase. If this is the second or subsequent time you have generated a file, the generate date changes to the current date and time.
  • Click on the file type--PDF, HTML (one file) or HTML (many files)--for the newly generated document.
  • Choose Open if you want to view the generated file(s) now.
  • Choose Save if you want to save the generated file(s) locally.
